Hi! I'm Tim. The idea for Switch Sniper came to me during a vacation in Florida, about a week before the Nintendo Switch 2 launch. I challenged myself: could I figure out if major retailers had exposed API endpoints showing their in-store quantities? I suspected the Switch 2 would be a hot commodity, and I wanted to help people find one.

Just as things were taking off, Best Buy turned off their Switch quantities. Rather than give up, I spent the next couple of days investigating other major retailers. Within a day, I had Target's inventory system integrated and running.

The response has been incredible. In just one week after launch, Switch Sniper has served over 150,000 visitors and 500,000 page views. I never imagined a small tool built from a vacation idea could help so many people. The success stories I've received and the generous contributions to keep the infrastructure running have been truly heartwarming.

This project probably never would have happened without my lifelong love of Pokémon. So thanks to Nintendo and the folks who created Pokémon for inspiring me to build something that helps others share in that joy.
